Clinical Neurophysiology

Studying the function of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles

Specialities

Epilepsy

Performing electroencephalogram (EEG) tests to assess brain activity and assist in the diagnosis of epilepsy and other conditions.

Neuromuscular
Disorders

Nerve conduction studies, peripheral nerve ultrasound and electromyography (EMG) to assess nerve and muscle-related disorders.

Sleep
Studies

Clinical sleep studies include a variety of overnight procedures to diagnose sleep disorders. The most common sleep study is the polysomnogram which is performed to assess breathing, oxygen level, leg movements and depth of sleep.

IONM

Intra-operative Neurophysiological Monitoring

Assisting in theatre to prevent intraoperative injury to the central and peripheral nervous system.

or polysomnogram

What is a polysomnogram?

A polysomnogram, also known as a sleep study, is a diagnostic test that measures various physiological parameters while an individual sleeps. It is typically used to diagnose sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, and restless leg syndrome.

How are sleep disorders treated?

A continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) titration is used to treat sleep apnea. It involves wearing a mask that delivers pressurized air to keep the airways open during sleep.
